Meet Lauren

LAUREN BOND (she/her) is an interdisciplinary performer, music director, artist and educator based in Washington, DC. She is neurodivergent, queer, and Latina. Across mediums, her works center accessibility, whimsy, and history.

In a world of single-tracked professionals, Lauren is a true Renaissance woman. She graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in American Studies (Concentration in Audio, Visual, Literary, and Performance Medias) and a Certificate of Advanced Language Study in Spanish. Her senior thesis, “Bessie Smith and the New World Blues” combined her love of archival research and audio storytelling into a sci-fi play written for radio.

As an education resource specialist, Lauren’s empathy and humor have touched the hearts of countless students. A 2022-23 recipient of the Yale Glee Club Service Through Music Fellowship, Lauren spent a year building robust performing arts programs in New Haven, CT public schools. Her work in accessible education has continued at Fusion Academy, a school for students with social, emotional, and learning differences. Lauren creates customized instructional plans for middle- and high-schoolers that help their unique brains thrive.

As a vocalist and music director, Lauren has traveled the world, crafting polished performances in the recording studio and for world-class venues like the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage. She is the producer and director of No More Blues (2020, Redhot & Blue) and a contributing director on Live from Vermont (2021, The Whiffenpoofs).

As a visual artist, she’s designed and created playful garments for occasions and everyday living. Her linocut prints and watercolor paintings hang in homes across the country.
